Intrepid Performance training
Customized strength and rehab based training to improve performance, participate in life pain free, and get back to peak performance.
PILLARS OF PERFORMANCE
Pursue - Perform - Be Limitless
Whether you are looking to improve your athletic performance, or need direction and support on your rehab journey working with an accredited Exercise Physiologist (Kinesiologist) is an effective first choice on the road to peak performance.
Intrepid Performance Training believes in the pursuit of peak performance. This could be specific to sport, but also applies to the tenacity and discipline required to act on our full potential. This pursuit is supported by educating and empowering athletes to understand the WHY behind their training.
We recognize that performing at your best is the ultimate goal. This means capturing performance based data (like strength gains and changes in mobility), but also encompasses how it feels. Our goal is of course for you to move well, but more importantly, to feel great doing it. There are few gifts in life like peak physical expression, and we respect and appreciate the mental health benefits that come from participating in the movement practices that make us feel the most alive.
Lastly, we’re here to help you be limitless. To shift your perspective on what is possible. When information and support are paired with passion belief, we can be an unstoppable team. From bagging peaks pain free, to setting powerlifting world records, we’re here to support you on your path to success.
WHAT IS AN EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGIST?
Put simply, it is a strength and conditioning coach who is also equipped with the knowledge, skills and competencies to design, deliver and evaluate safe and effective exercise programming with considerations for acute, sub-acute or chronic medical conditions, injuries or disabilities.
Human physiology is complex and interconnected, especially when it comes to recovering from injury, or surgery. Returning to the gym after you have finished your physiotherapy or surgical rehab protocol can feel daunting. Jake has the skillset, experience, and compassion to create a safe and customized training plan to maximize recovery, and get you stronger throughout the process.
Background
Founder – Intrepid Performance Training | Exercise Physiologist | Strength Coach
From the sun-soaked shores of Perth, Australia, to the rugged trails of the Canadian Rockies, Jake’s journey has always revolved around movement, performance, and helping others thrive in the environments they love. Now based in Canmore, Alberta, Jake lives with his wife and young son, embracing mountain life.
With over a decade of experience in strength and conditioning, exercise physiology, and injury rehab, Jake brings a deep understanding of how to rebuild bodies, boost performance, and keep people doing what they love!
His mission? Help people build resilience, move better, and keep the mountains their playground for years to come.
Jake is the founder of Intrepid Performance Training and also works as part of the Strength Team at Banff Sport Medicine, one of Canada’s leading orthopedic and sports medicine clinics. His professional experience spans working with athletes of all levels, post-operative rehab clients, and active individuals looking for long-term, sustainable results.
Jake combines clinical knowledge with real-world application—making strength training and rehabilitation feel accessible, rewarding, and (dare we say) even fun.
When he’s not coaching or programming, you’ll likely find Jake out on the trails, snowboarding, mountain biking, or doing his best not to get outskated in rec hockey.
