PILLARS OF PERFORMANCE

Pursue - Perform - Be Limitless

Whether you are looking to improve your athletic performance, or need direction and support on your rehab journey working with an accredited Exercise Physiologist (Kinesiologist) is an effective first choice on the road to peak performance.

Intrepid Performance Training believes in the pursuit of peak performance. This could be specific to sport, but also applies to the tenacity and discipline required to act on our full potential. This pursuit is supported by educating and empowering athletes to understand the WHY behind their training.

We recognize that performing at your best is the ultimate goal. This means capturing performance based data (like strength gains and changes in mobility), but also encompasses how it feels. Our goal is of course for you to move well, but more importantly, to feel great doing it. There are few gifts in life like peak physical expression, and we respect and appreciate the mental health benefits that come from participating in the movement practices that make us feel the most alive.

Lastly, we’re here to help you be limitless. To shift your perspective on what is possible. When information and support are paired with passion belief, we can be an unstoppable team. From bagging peaks pain free, to setting powerlifting world records, we’re here to support you on your path to success.

WHAT IS AN EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGIST?

Put simply, it is a strength and conditioning coach who is also equipped with the knowledge, skills and competencies to design, deliver and evaluate safe and effective exercise programming with considerations for acute, sub-acute or chronic medical conditions, injuries or disabilities.

Human physiology is complex and interconnected, especially when it comes to recovering from injury, or surgery. Returning to the gym after you have finished your physiotherapy or surgical rehab protocol can feel daunting. Jake has the skillset, experience, and compassion to create a safe and customized training plan to maximize recovery, and get you stronger throughout the process.

Background

Jake’s passion for mountain life is what drew him from Perth, Australia to the Canadian Rockies. He has fallen in love with being close to nature, and working with clients who take their physical feats to the extreme in order to play (safely) in this incredible backyard in Banff and Canmore, Albertaa.

Jake was first drawn to the strength and conditioning in his early teens as he embarked on a professional soccer career split between the UK and Australia and he’s been working in the industry since finishing his post secondary studies in 2010. Jake joined the Canadian Kinesiology Alliance board of Directors in 2018, an integral part of his professional networking here in Canada.

An avid mountain biker, snowboarder, and back country enthusiast, he is working on his new found Canadian hobby, hockey. Jake is keen to share knowledge and experience in training and exercise rehabilitation to ensure your active mountain lifestyle stays that way!
